Your Questions



In this post I will be answering some of your questions that I have been asked.  Feel free to comment and ask any other questions you would like to know and I will do my best to answer them?

1)  Can I wear my own clothing?  
Answer: Yes I can.  Although I am unsure if people on other units can.  However, on my unit I am able to.

2)  Do I feel safe here?  
Answer:  Yes I do.  There was only a couple residents who tried to hurt me.  She dumped hot coffee on my head.  One other time someone tried to punch me (they actually were a staff member HCA who worked here). They had their first in my face and I pulled them to the ground. 

3) How did you get to live there?
Answer:  A doctor falsified a capacity test and declared me incapacitated illegally and now they decide where I should live.

4) Do me and the other residents here walk around drugged up like a bunch of zombies?
Answer:  No

5)  What does everyday life and routine look like? 
Answer:  For me it is different bc I volunteer alot in my community but for most of the people here they wake up around 630am and have breakfast around 7am.  Then most go to their rooms.  Some just sit there and read or watch TV.  Then at 12 noon it is lunch.  At 5pm is dinner.   Sometimes ppl go out for a walk in the community but most of them just stay in their room.  A couple have phones or tablets to play on in their rooms but alot don't and I dont know how they get through the boredom in their rooms to be honest. 

6) Are most of you there for life or do they rehabilitate you so you can leave and live in the community?
Answer:  Most of us are unfortunately here for life u less a court decides in our favor.

7)  How long will you be there ? How long have you been there? How do you find the care? Any support? Are you getting the help you need? 
Answer:  I have been here since 2020. There is no care aside from they cook and clean for me. They have a mental health worker that you can talk to on occasion but it is useless imo as I find it is just like calling a distress line. They cannot tell you what they think you should do in a situation bc of their liability. I dont get any "mental help" from this place.

8) What is the sex like?  
Answer:  I have no issues masturbating in my own room however I have never seen someone's partner come here ans be intimate with them.  I have a partner and I am able to go out so I usually just go to their place.  Some people in this building are in locked units ans cannot leave.  I imagine some of them suffer without it.

This post is about various things that can happen to you in my state/province.  Laws may vary by country and state but I urge anyone to look into their laws before they get professional  help.  Had I known many of the things I am about to tell you I most likely would not have gone to any so-called "professional" for help.  This is not to say you shouldn't go to a professional. Invisible Illness

I wanted to talk a bit about Invisible illnesses.  Myself, I have invisible illnesses and most ppl just assume when they see me that I am not disabled.  My invisible conditions are as follows.... 1)  Epilepsy...I had seizures most of my life until age 27 when I underwent brain surgery for them.  That left me with short-term memory issues.  Those memory issues make learning a new job or skill difficult. 2)  I use to have a scoliosis and suffered chronic pain and insomnia for years from it.  The scoliosis is no more and I no longer suffer pain from it.  The insomnia however still happens at times.  Try working at 9am when u have slept 1hr the whole night.  Very difficult. 3) I also have swallowing issues as well and live on a pureed diet.  Some days it can take me 1hr to drink 1 cup of fluid.  It takes my whole day to get the 8 cups of fluid I need to sustain myself each day and live.
